Program Description: The Computer Technology (CPT) associate degree program is designed to prepare competent, skilled graduates for entry-level positions in the information technology field. The Computer Technology program provides a comprehensive curriculum that offers courses in system analysis and design, applications, operating systems, networking, programming, database, and cybersecurity. In addition, students are provided with a choice of two areas of concentration. The networking concentration is designed for individuals seeking the skills needed to design, install, and maintain computer networks in all types of organizations. The programming/web design concentration provides individuals with skills in a variety of programming languages as well as in web design and the development of mobile apps. Successful completion of the courses in the Computer Technology degree may prepare students for industry certification exams.

Students wanting to transfer to another college should consider taking SPC 205 as it will transfer as Public Speaking. Students taking ENG 260 may be able to transfer that class to another college, but most likely it will transfer as an elective. Students must take either one of these courses before taking their choice of CPT 118 or CPT 276.

After successfully completeing either SPC 205 or ENG 260, students can choose to take CPT 118 or CPT 276. Instructor approval is required for CPT 276.
