Program Description: The Nail Technology certificate program prepares students for entry-level positions in salons, spas, and self-employment. Nail Technicians shape and style nails providing manicures (Manicurist), pedicures (Pedicurist) and other nail treatments. Nail Technicians are responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment. They must uphold strict standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and established policies and procedures along with maintaining state licensure credentials.
To be eligible for SC Nail Technology Licensure, individuals must:
Be a Permanent US Resident or US Citizen,
Have earned a High School Diploma or GED or 10th grade education,
Be at least 16 years of age.
Program Prequisite(s): RDG 100, ENG 100, MAT 032.
Qualifying scores on SAT, ACT, Accuplacer placement test or Multiple Measures.
